The Material Handling Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business opportunities and maintaining strong customer relationships by providing material handling equipment, warehouse solutions, service programs, and operational recommendations that help customers improve safety, productivity, and efficiency.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers throughout the assigned territory
  • Identify customer needs and recommend material handling solutions, including forklifts, aerial lifts, floor care equipment, warehouse products, and related services
  • Conduct on-site visits to evaluate customer operations, equipment fleets, warehouse layouts, and storage requirements
  • Prepare and present equipment proposals, quotations, and solution-based recommendations
  • Promote new and used equipment sales, rentals, service agreements, training programs, and warehouse solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of Crown, UniCarriers, Hyundai, Tennant, Skyjack, Taylor-Dunn, and other represented product lines
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure successful delivery and implementation of customer solutions
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and forecasting information within company systems
  • Attend customer meetings, trade events, and training programs as required
  • Stay current on industry trends, material handling technology, and warehouse best practices
  • Achieve established sales goals and performance objectives
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner

Desired Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
  • Previous sales experience preferred, especially in industrial, equipment, material handling, construction, or related industries
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand equipment applications and customer operational needs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Ability to travel throughout Western New York as required
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and safely inspect customer facilities and equipment
